Etheric oils: essential fragrances for your wellbeing
It isn’t only touch but also fragrance that largely influences our feeling of wellbeing. We all know the tension that can be caused by the wrong touch and pungent odours. As luck will have it the opposite is also applicable: soothing touches and pleasant fragrances can bring you relaxation and a feeling of wellbeing. AHA-Massage offers you a wide variety of etheric oils produced with natural fragrances from aromatic plants.

Etheric or essential oils are derived from the roots, stems, leaves, flowers or fruits of aromatic plants. They are 100% natural which are then strongly concentrated after production. In our practice we add very small quantities of etheric oil to our neutral massage oil made from almonds. In total we use ten different etheric oils that vary greatly in fragrance and effect.

Some of these oils have relaxing, tranquillizing and soothing effects (like lavender, sandalwood, orange or mandarin oil) while others are distinctly stimulating, like rosemary oil.
We mix our own blends of etheric oils that complement and reinforce each other.
One of these is a blend of rosemary, lemongrass and ginger oil that has a pleasantly stimulating effect on the muscles. Another blend relieves painful muscles in the neck and shoulders, another can improve your mood and yet another blend can make you feel extra fit and energetic. These are just a handful of the many possibilities!

Preference – or dislike – of fragrances is often a personal matter and therefore decisive for the ultimate effect. That’s why we discuss with our clients which fragrance or oil mixture feels best and works well. There is plenty of choice to suit your needs.

Warm oils: A pleasure
Rest and relaxation are the characteristics of a proper massage treatment. One of the things that can be very disturbing is a masseur suddenly splashing cold oil on your body! Therefore we exclusively use warm massage oil in our practice. When applied, our oil is always heated slightly warmer than the body temperature.
To be honest we didn’t invent this ourselves, but we took the idea from the ancient Eastern massage methods. For example, Ayurvedan massage is always done with warm oils.
